This product makes a mockery of the word "replica". Here is the reality of the situation: the "cherry wood" is painted particle board, the globe is plastic, and the "frescoes" are stickers. That's right; all the images you see are stickers. This globe is so cheap that the manufacturer never bothered to paint the images onto the surfaces. Instead, every picture is a paper sticker crudely stuck onto the particle board. The included hardware is decent, but that hardly matters when the materials they hold together aren't worth a wooden nickle. Now the list price for this piece of junk is a mind-boggling $480; a price secreted strait out of Amazon's anus. So in the wake of this disappointing purchase I come as the bearer of bad, and obvious, news: you get what you pay for, and $126 for such an item just doesn't buy anything near presentable for an old world decor.
I have always wanted one of these bars inside a globe of the world - just struck me as something elegant that you only see in old movies. Now, I have my own office, with antiques, paintings, bookshelves, and so decided now was the time to see what's out there in the world of globe bars. This one looked nice, the price was really right, and so I ordered it, hoping it would not be some cheesy plastic item. It came shortly after I ordered it, well packed, in pieces. The directions were clear, the parts were all there, and I had it assembled in about 20 minutes. It's wood - a nice version of the map of the world - the inside top of the globe has all kinds of scantily clad mythical beings rising out of the oceans. It is on rollers, opens and closes easily, has the rack on the bottom, and a rack inside to hold glassware, bottles, what have you. I am very pleased with the product - I think it is an excellent value for the price. It looks great and is a nice conversation piece.
